According to theAnnouncement on State Council Academic Degrees Committee’s Assessment of 2014 Degree Issuing Disciplines[Degree (2016) No.5], it was passed on the thirty-second meeting for by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, that all the degree Issuing Disciplinesin Shanghai Jiao Tong University are qualified and can continue to authorize academic degrees.

The specific assessment is mainly designed to check the completeness of postgraduate training system, which is important content to assess the degree issuing units and important work of the school discipline construction. Through this specific assessment, each discipline canidentify problems, consolidate and continue to improve the quality and ensure the healthy and sustainable development of postgraduate education. 

On June 26^th, 2014, the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council issued the Announcement onCarrying Out the 2014 Assessment on Degree Issuing Disciplines[Degree (2014) No.17], our university actively carry out assessment. The faculty of each school and department attached great importance to the work, and called for a serious study of the assessment materials and uploaded them to the National Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Quality information platform and reveal them to the public. Reviewed by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council expert panel and National Professional Degree Education Steering Committee, SJTU’s degree issuing disciplines (see Annex) were all qualified.
